 ACBT Academic Intensive Program
The Atlantic Contemporary Ballet Theatre’s winter intensive program is designed for the career minded student who wants to be competitive in the world of ballet. Fully certified high school level academics are included in this program. Students may also receive up to 12 college credits in affiliation with the Richard Stockton College of NJ. The academic school includes college preparatory courses with added SAT work on a daily basis. Those students wishing to complete high school early have the opportunity to complete their academics at an accelerated rate. When enough units have been met, a diploma is issued to the student. Phyllis Papa, director of both the Academy and the academic school, is also on faculty at the Richard Stockton College.
The students have two technique classes and pointe class everyday. Other classes include men’s class, adagio, variations, and other classes necessary for a career in ballet.
Students will learn how to prepare a budget for a ballet, the foundations of choreography, dance history, and will research companies for their future careers.
The school is located at the Atlantic City Ballet, Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Dancers receive the finest possible training and benefit from individual attention. Each student is given private coaching in dance and is evaluated regularly. Students benifit from having the Atlantic City Ballet on premesis. There is opportunity to perform in with the professional company in the nutcracker as well as other spring performances.

Students are accepted into the ACBT Intensive programs by audition only, grades middle school & above. To audition please send a video tape or CD, no longer than 10 minutes, or you may audition during an Acbt Academy class. The audition tape or CD should include an adagio with a first arabesque, pirouettes, jumps, and for ladies pointe work.
The Academy is beautifully nestled on a 7.2 acre wooded property. The heated Olympic size pool is open May through September.
